I was checking out this article on Cnet and they discussed what web browser is better; Mozilla Firefox 2 or Internet Explorer 7 (IE7). The 5 categories voted on were:
Firefox came out on top, 64 to 47, for anyone keeping score and finished at the top of every category. IE7 can still be "buggy" and overall is sometimes a pain in the ass to deal with. Those are not CNets words, they are mine, but that's basically what they were saying in the article. In college I used Firefox. At my first job upon graduation everyone used the new IE7 and I switched over with them. My next job was spit, some people used IE7 and others Firefox. At home I've been switching back and forth, with Firefox as my primary browser. The key advantage to IE7, besides the fact it's Microsoft, is that it appeals to idiots. Their "tabbed browsing" feature has been around with Firefox for awhile, but IE7 shows a tab before it is active, inticing unknowing users to click on it. I don't mean to say too many complimentary things about Internet Explorer 7. Firefox is better in every phase of the game. For every nice thing about IE7, a find a drawback. An example is the exporting of bookmarks. If you tab too many sites and try to save them, the browser will freeze and automatically close. This may not be an issue for everyone, but for people who can't gather information quickly enough, it's vital. Comments (1)
