Stephen Colbert and Tim Russert

Meet The Press with Russert in the drivers seat was a true joy. His energy during election shows would keep me half awake in my addictive-like obsession with polls about the polls about the polls. For MSNBC his prescence will be sorely missed. While Keith Olberman and Chris Mathews could not help themselves during the Democratic primaries and ruffle feathers of the Hillary camp (for the most part), it was Tim Russert who maintained a middle ground whiel getting his facts and perceptions known.

I can't help but think about who will take his seat on front of the Meet The Press bus. Chris Mathews seems like the obvious choice since he has a show that follows Meet The Press but it's a big decision that NBC is facing in the midst of a heated presidential election.

My friend told me about what happened at a bar Friday evening. I'm normally on top of the news, even at work but I happened to be too busy that day to browse the internet. I was stunned like everyone else and the rest of the election will beand should be a tribute to Tim Russert's glory.
