I am a big Nascar fan. My difference would be that I root for an entire team instead of just one driver. Although my heart does have a soft spot for Jimmy Johnson, most race days I am hollering for any Team Hendricks car to win. On the other hand I can truthfully say I cannot stand Tony Stewart and the Home Depot #20 car. Owned by famed coach Joe Gibbs and run currently by his son. Why Mr. Gibbs allows Tony Stewart to display the type of behavior he does each weekend is beyond me. Why does Home Depot still sponsor such a poor sport as Tony? Tony Stewart has won the Nascar championship twice in his history of driving, but to listen to him - one would think he has won much, much more. He wants the world to believe he is the greatest racer of all time, but that distinctive title is still held by others much older than Stewart is currently. He has threatened to retire. He has likened Nascar to the WWE or professional wrestling. He refuses interviews when he is in his crybaby mode. Which only results in shunning his few fans left. He is an unsafe driver and causes accidents for other drivers most weekends also. A few years back it was rumored Tony was made to go to anger management classes to keep racing. All this and he still has time to do a radio show where he puts down the folks who make it possible to live his dream. So one must ask what exactly drives Joe Gibbs racing to keep a punk like Tony Stewart around? I wish I had some answers to give, but it is beyond me. Joe Gibbs doesn't put up with attitudes and unbecoming behavior from his football players. So why with Tony Stewart? If anyone has the answers I am looking for let me know. I am in the dark on this one. I would certainly love some feedback. Comments (0)
