I first turned to my computer as a source of income in late 2005. I really had no idea what I was doing, I had just heard rumors that there was money to be made online. I have to admit, I was a pretty slow typer, I may have been able to hit a maximum speed of 20 words per minute and I knew absolutely nothing about html, affiliate programs or anything really.

I spent the first six months making a few dollars, literally. There weren’t any legitimate sources to tell me how to make money online so I just did what the few recommendations I could find told me to do. I started off trying to get paid by reading “paid emails”. I would have to say I probably spent about 3 hours a day for a week straight reading spam (a.k.a emails). Once the week had ended I must have earned a whole $10, which wasn’t even enough to cash out. Then I tried the “Get Paid to Click Links” thing which was a huge failure too. Gimmick after gimmick, I began to wonder if people really made money online or if it was just a lie.

Next I tried to blog at a community site called BloggerParty.com. Although I only made a few cents a day through Google Adsense I slowly began to make friends online. My articles began getting about 100 reads a day! Although it wasn’t the most profitable, it proved to me that people actually enjoyed reading what I have to say (and to think, my English teacher said I’d never amount to anything!). After about a half year of daily blogging I came across a site called Associated Content. I began writing articles for them because at least they paid upfront per article.

I began making about $100 a week from Associated Content just by writing some articles. The more I wrote the better my typing skills got. I began to notice that I could now type 40 wpm.

After about 5 months of writing for AC great things started happening. I set up my own monetized blog at a site called Blogger.com. Advertisers began paying me to place ads on my website. Then, The Sun Tribune Newspaper saw one of my Associated Content articles and decided to feature it in their actual newspaper! I even got to do an over-the-phone interview! It was like being a celebrity! Suddenly offers came flooding in from all over; people wanted me to become a guest writer on their site, review their company’s products, etc. Between writing article for cash, having my own website, my advertisers and the businesses that paid me to give my opinions I realized that I was taking in over $300 a week. And I was only spending about 25 hours on the computer to make it!

This led me to want to research new ways to make money online that don’t involve any kind of investment and are practical for busy individuals, like myself who don’t have endless hours to click links or read emails. I started finding that there were hundreds of ways to legitimately make money!

That was when I realized that I had to get the word out to other people about how they can REALLY make a living online without the run around. I created a site called Paid Opportunities – http://paidopps.blogspot.com and started writing real reviews about every company I have found to be successful. After only two months my site was getting about 80 hits every day!

It is now March, 2007, not even two years since I began my online adventure, and I earn no less than $500 a week online. Some weeks I take home over $1,000! The best part is that I only work a few hours each day and for the most part, I take weekends off. If I can do it, anybody can do it. Working online has completely changed my life. I am now able to be a full time stay at home mother, I don’t have to spend money on gas to get to work and I have no “salary cap” nor do I have to wait to get a raise from a boss. I haven’t any difficult coworkers to deal with and if I am sick I don’t have to work at all. I even make money on the days I don’t “come in”. There’s no more early mornings or late nights for me. I can take a break whenever I can even have a beer while I work. Is that not the coolest job ever?

If your dreams are to have a job like mine, YOU CAN! It won’t happen overnight, but if you persevere, it will come!
